LOS ANGELES – Veronica Perez & Associates (VPA) today announced the addition of veteran strategist Vivian Rescalvo to its government relations and public affairs team.

With over 30 years of public- and private-sector experience in government and real estate development, Vivian Rescalvo brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm in a variety of areas including transportation, land use, public policy and legislative affairs. She comes to VPA after most recently serving as a senior director in Los Angeles Metro’s Countywide Planning and Development Department, overseeing numerous joint development projects throughout the county. Prior to joining Metro, Rescalvo spent nearly 20 years with Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, including the five years he served as Councilmember in the City of Los Angeles. During her time with Mr. Yaroslavsky, she handled various policy issues including transportation, land use and development, and children, family and social services. She also spent four years at the law firm of Manatt, Phelps and Philips as a Land Use Specialist in the firm’s Government Practice group.

VPA also announced a new strategic engagement with Daniel Brumer, a trusted real estate and public affairs advisor who guides his clients through complex political, land use, and legislative matters involving state and local government in California. Daniel was formerly a senior advisor to Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Krekorian, and a land use deputy to former Councilman Tom LaBonge. A graduate of Columbia Law School with high honors, he is a partner at Brumer Law Group, P.C., a boutique law firm focusing on all aspects of real estate and corporate transactions, and a licensed California real estate broker.

“With both Vivian and Daniel joining our team, VPA’s public affairs practice has never been stronger,” said Veronica Perez, CEO of Veronica Perez & Associates. “Vivian’s years of experience working in both the public and private sectors, and her knowledge of the intricacies of city, county and public agencies, will be a huge asset to our clients. We will draw on Daniel’s unique background in public policy, real estate, and business to elevate our practice to offer a more expansive suite of services. I’m delighted to welcome them both.”
